Tibetan Serpent Tingsha

These Tibetan Tingsa or Tingsha are beautiful Tibetan Cymbals which are made of brass and are decorated with a beautiful design of a Tibetan Serpent. Each Tingsa is approximately 65 mm in diameter and are held together by a leather strap. Each set comes in its own delightful hand made box.

For centuries Tingsha have been used as a meditation aid to help clear the mind. These Tingsa are decorated with a Lotus design, which is symbolic in Buddhism.

Apart from their ancient transitional use as an aid to meditation, Tingsa are used nowadays in an increasing variety of ways. These are easy to play, simply hold the leather thong in both hands and allow the rim of one cymbal to strike the other.

The clean and clear sound produced resonates for some time and was originally used to focus the mind during meditation. More recently Tingsa being used by Sound Therapists and Feng Shui experts to aid in the Space Clearing of rooms.

These Tingsa are Fairtrade, meaning the makers got a better deal than what would otherwise have been the case. Thus helping their local communities and helping them support themselves as they haven't got the opportunities we take for granted in the west.
