Peace Meditation

An excellent meditation is to use a word that has meaning to you as a mantra, and repeating this mentally while you meditate. The following meditation is called the Peace meditation as the word Peace forms the mantra. First sit in your meditation position. You may want to do a premeditation as mentioned in our earlier post just to carm the mind and body. Take a deep breath in and hold it for 3 seconds, and as you hold it gather up all the tension in your body. As you breath out release all the tension in your body in a big sigh of relieve. Repeat this another two times.

Now simply sit and breath naturally. Don't force your breathing, just let the breath come and go on its own. Just monitor your breathing. Feel the breath come in and the breath come out. Accept the way your body feels. Accept the thoughts in your mind by letting them pass. Don't confront them, challenge them or try to change them, just accept them and let them pass.

Focus on the breath. Feel the breath in and the breath out. Let the breath come on its own will. When you feel totally relaxed bring the word Peace into your mind. Let the word Peace come and go at will. Bring the word Peace in a soft gentle relaxing voice. Let the word feel your body with Peace. Let your breaths come and go at will, let the word Peace come and go at will. You can meditation using this technique for 20 to 30 minutes. If you can only manage 10 minutes that's okay, as the more you meditate the easier it will become. All meditations can feel different from each other and its how you feel during the day that really counts.
